Custom Ontologies/ Terminologies

Jul 22, 2009 at 9:57 AM

I tried to work with the plug-in but I could not download any ontology since the access seems to be blocked by our firewall. Anyway, to us it would be more interesting to use our own Ontologies (available in OBO format). Is there a way to directly load an OBO file instead of going to the NCBO ? This would also help us to circumvent the issue with the firewall by downloading OBO files from what ever source and use them for the plug-in.

All of the ontologies are downloadable from predictable locations on
the web. See http://obofoundry.org/ for a list and click the details
link. There are also both XML and RDF files with comprehensive
metadata about all the ontologies at

http://www.berkeleybop.org/ontologies/obo-all/ontology_index.xml
http://www.berkeleybop.org/ontologies/obo-all/ontology_index.rdf
